How does shepard survive

In order to continue the story of Mass Effect in the Milky Way after the drastically different endings of Mass Effect 3 , the trailer implied that several optional moments from the original trilogy would be made canon to give the next game a solid foundation to launch its story from.

Together, these raise one big question for Mass Effect 4. Between showing a dead Reaper, the return of Liara, and a shot showing two distinct galaxies at the start of the teaser, it seems almost certain that Mass Effect 4 will be returning to the Milky Way to pick up from the events of the original trilogy. Before the announcement, BioWare had seemed tentative about returning to the Milky Way.

In almost every ending of Mass Effect 3, Shepard will die in exchange for stopping the Reapers. So consider yourself warned. It really depends on how you interprete the endings.

If you believe that the ending given was the true ending, then EDI and the geth were destroyed along with the reapers.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is finally out, after months of teasing. It is just the Reapers who change. With destroy you essentially commit Geth genocide and kill EDI, and synthesis, while saving everyone is neutral because of the forced change to everybody.

In the Perfect Ending, it is implied that Commander Shepard survives, along with the entire Normandy squad and all of planet Earth. Therefore, it can be easily deduced that the Electronic Data Interchange is not dying soon and beyond the myths, this B2B messaging technology certainly has an ebullient future. It was also discounted by Bioware. If that notion appeals to you, however, enjoy the game however you like. By the way, that rubble looks more like concrete, they don't use concrete on the Citadel so forgive me for assuming they were back on Earth as it looked a lot like they were.

Shepard was bleeding out, pretty much dead when they walked into the explosion. Let me just say, thanks for all the replies btw.

Also, let's just agree that the writers only had Shepard waking up to get people hyped for DLC and to try and make the Destroy ending have more differences than the color red. I still believe that Shepard should not have survived Mass Effect 3's Ending as a whole because Shepard either got hit by the laser or was close enough to become ash Which they should have done anyway. Just think about this - Shepard's shields are not stronger than a standard Alliance ship, Shepard is not superman so how did they survive all of that crap?

He was an absolute hero and I'll always remember him. Show some love for Mr. Shields and keep him in your heart until the end of your days.

Whatever makes it fun for you. Ultimately we just need to admit that the endings for ME3 were not their best work. Yes, Shepard should have died from the laser, the explosion, the gut wounds, the burns, the fall, the catastrophe. What I think is that the Catalyst lied to Shepard, withholding some options and in his wounded state Shepard just accepted it.
